Doral (Quazepam) is the brand name for a prescription sleeping pill. It is in a class of sedative hypnotics called Benzodiazepines. They are the oldest class of sleep medications/drugs that are still commonly in use. Doral, and Benzodiazepines as a group, are considered to have a higher risk of dependency than other insomnia sedative hypnotics such as Non-Benzodiazepines. Both are classified as controlled substances, although recent formulations of the drugs have attempted to lessen the side-effects. Doral is now less prescribed than other prescription sleep aids such as Ambien CR and Lunesta, which are non-benzodiazepines.
Common side-effects of Doral include: dizziness, drowsiness, lack of cooridination, and light-headedness. When taking this product, medical supervision is essential and should be taken as a last resort only.
