Halcion

Sleeping Pill Review

Halcion (Triazolam) is a prescription sleeping pill used for short-term treatment of insomnia. It is a member of the benzodiazepine class of drugs, many of which are used as tranquilizers. They are the oldest class of sleep medications/drugs that are still commonly in use. Halcion, and Benzodiazepines as a group, are considered to have a higher risk of dependency than other insomnia sedative hypnotics such as Non-Benzodiazepines (Ambien CR and Lunesta). Both are classified as controlled substances, although recent versions of the drugs have attempted to lessen the side-effects. Halcion is now less prescribed than other prescription sleep aids such as Ambien CR and Lunesta.

Common side-effects of Halcion include: dizziness, drowsiness, lack of coordination, and light-headedness. When taking this product, medical supervision is essential and should be taken as a last resort only. The warnings on this class of drugs are all strong so you should consider that carefully.
