For those of you suffering from insomnia and problems with sleeping, taking prescription sleeping pills will seem to be an obvious and appealing option. Whilst most people will experience some short term benefit, there are a number of problems in the long-term associated with them. The following are serious problems that are common among sleeping pill users
- Addiction to sleeping pills. Eventually many people can't sleep without the pills.
- You can become physically weak. Sleeping pills are high in chemicals that are harmful for your body.
- Mental disability. Long-term use of sleeping pills impacts one's mental capacity. Ability to concentrate, slow reaction times, decreased hand-eye-coordination and forgetfulness can occur.
- Disrupted sleeping patterns. Loss of control of your nervous system is not out of the question. Tired and fatigued at odd times of the day. Wakefullness in the middle of the night and a general loss of your body's internal time clock can be a big problem with sleeping pills.
- Sleeping pills are expensive.
